In Texas, a roadhouse that has operated under a contract with a local nonprofit will close at midnight on February 15 due to severe drought conditions, according to a news release issued Monday.
The Roadhouse Texas (RTO) is one of the most popular churches in Texas.
The church opened in 2013 and currently houses over 100 people in the town of Texarkana, according the release.
It has operated the church since 2003, according RTO officials.
“Due to severe weather and the high cost of maintaining the building, the RTO has decided to close the building in early February, to make way for a new facility,” the release stated.
The news release did not provide an estimate on the cost of the closure.
A spokesperson for the RTEA, the nonprofit organization that owns and operates the RTF, told local media that it has not received a request for information from the Roadhouse, and that RTO is looking into the situation.
